After Prom
After Prom is run annually immediately following the Senior Prom by the FHS Staff & the PTSA as a safe alternative for students to other types of parties that tend to take place after the prom. The cost for each student is incorporated in the senior dues (non FHS students and FHS underclassmen dates are welcome, though they must buy a ticket to attend).
There is a "casino" where kids can play games of skill to win monopoly "money" to be used at an held auction at the end of the event. They also earn "money" for participating in other activities throughout the event.
The After Prom Committee of the PTSA raises money to rent a facility (The University of Akron's Recreation Center in 2011, Stonehedge Bowling & Rec Center in 2010 & 2009). We purchase things students can use as they continue their education (think college dorm room/first apartment items, college age entertainment items, school items, etc..) for the auction.
Parents volunteer to run the event. As parents- it is a lot of fun to hang one last time with the other parents, and to be with your students in one last school event.
