PTSA Valentine's Day Flower Sale
Pre - sale dates: February 1, 2nd and 3rd
Are any members florists or have contacts to one? Please let us know if you are and are able to help support this event!It's time again for our annual Valentine's Day fundraiser. This is a really popular event for the kids and fun for our volunteers. Volunteers are needed during the lunch periods at school (Wednesday through Friday), February 1, 2nd and 3rd and directly after school, at school, on February 13th to assemble the orders. The flowers are delivered to the students on Valentine's Day!

Winter Formal -New Date- Saturday, February 25
Volunteers are needed for the coat check area from 7:15 pm to 10:30 pm. Students should be advised that all items checked in will only be available for check out once - as they leave for the evening.

Athletic Opportunities for our Students: FHS’s Fencing Club began this Fall and beginner’s are welcome – no experience necessary. All needed equipment is provided – students who are willing to seriously and consistently attend the practices are encouraged to join! To learn about joining contact: Mr. Chris Martin 330-873-3315. For questions about fencing contact Mr. Tom Nagy at 440-327-0808 or email, tomnagy@windstream.net. The club meets on Monday nights from 3 to 5 pm and a signed permission slip from Mr. Martin must be provided before starting. FHS Winter Runner’s Club has begun and is an excellent way to cross train for any sport. For information contact Coach Tim Carroll at 330-328-6427, or firestonecc@yahoo.com

Congratulations to our 2011-2011 Firestone PTSA Helping Hands Award winner Becka Harp, for her tireless volunteering of her to time to many, many FHS student causes & booster clubs.

Congratulations to Mr. Dan Spak as the 2011-2012 Firestone PTSA Outstanding Educator. Thank you for all you do for our children!

Both award winners will represent Firestone High School as nominees to the Akron Council of PTA systemwide Helping Hands and Outstanding Educator Awards. Best of luck, and Go Falcons!
